Working away…

Things are progressing well. I have been working lots the last few days. Today I got up and started painting in my pjs…didn’t shower until the afternoon!

I’ve had a few moments where I wanted to call the Arts Council and say I just can’t do this…but that passes and inspiration comes. The pressure to produce artwork is nothing new for me really…so I press on.

I have been trying to think up a theme for this body of work but I do not know that I am in control of where art takes me…if that makes any sense. Like, I thought Tattered Saints sounded good and I could picture myself doing a series of angels and saints that were highly distressed. But, then I started thinking about trees and birds and Springtime which is just around the corner…I don’t know if I can stay focused on one idea and create everything to revolve around it. Perhaps I just need to work and paint whatever I want and then consider a theme.

Thank you to my online friends for your prayers and support. I need it! Look how crazy I am…

Jane you can do it! I know you can! I don’t have to be a personal buddy to know that! YOUCANDOIT! Just breathe through it!

You not crazy, girl… You are beautiful. I’ll say prayers for you tonight, I promise. Prayers for inspiration through God’s Spirit and the energy to carry on.

Thank you friends. I’ve just about finished the three angels painting that I posted the WIP (work in progress) of. I like it…it is different.

I am used to offering my paintings online just as fast as they can dry…so this will be a challenge to stock pile so many. I doubt it if I will sell many at the show either…Lillington, NC is a small town. In fact, I may not even price them (still thinking about it)…but in the end I will have lots to offer online.
Meanwhile, it is beans and rice…
I am actually going to have to live with my art for awhile…weird. What if I get attached to it?? Or what if I can’t stand looking at it? HA!

I love your trees…haven’t seen one in a long time. Maybe that would be a fun distraction from hands and toes. Your paintings have grown up so much but I still love the little one I have from way back when. You have always been so great at facial expression. I know you are going to produce a great body of work..When I love a piece I have made I price it not to sell. It usually sells! I have seen you (on video) paint over a most beautiful painting so I know what you do if you don’t like something! You are in my prayers.

I just want to clarify, that it’s not just your newest works that are beautiful, they all are! Your new paintings for the show are very beautiful.
    Hugs!

    Thanks Tascha!
Anita, I just finished a BIG blossoming tree yesterday. =)I might do a few more too…The thing is, those are more difficult…well, tedious might be a better word…than they look.Whenever I am working on one, about half way through I get irritated and wish for the end. But when I am finished, I am happy and like the final result.
I can always look back through my photos for inspiration. That is always fun to do.

What a wonderful new challenge! Grow and glory in it, Janie! You will be amazed at what you can do! Love the new one with three angels! How long is the show??? put your stuff up on ebay as the show opens, and have flyers out so that the interested visitors at the gallery can place a bid. Could drum up some great interest there, and introduce them to looking at your stuff on ebay for future sales! Can hardly wait to see what’s next!

Congrats on your show..I just did my first one, with only an 18 day notice …so, I totally relate!! I got enough done, and you work larger, so that’s fewer pieces that you’ll need! Good Luck..if anyone can do it..you can!!! Hugs!!
