The Red Guitar
Friday, 20 November 2009
This painting sat incomplete on my wall for a couple months. I called it The Red Guitar because of the guitar shaped red blotch.
Why must we always search for a familiar object or form within an abstract painting?…Or it is that we cannot help but see them?
Anyways, even though I added the women (which then become subjects thus calling for my attention while considering a title), I chose to keep The Red Guitar.
I like how this turned out. I really enjoy abstract painting…just pushing paint around and playing with the composition.

Jane, I love the colors and abstract art is so expressive. The red guitar— love it!
I have to share that your son’s video on abstract art is one of my faves! He inspires me to just let go and paint. That it’s ok to make mistakes, because we learn from them and can make them better.
Thank your little guy for me!!!!!
