I pray

that as we shut the door of 2009

and cross the threshold into 2010

our temples would indeed be a dwelling place

for the Holy Spirit

Before the trip to Missouri, I had my encaustic supplies out and was experimenting with color and layering again but I just couldn’t get anything to look “right”. So, I left my studio a mess and went on my way. When I returned, sure enough my encaustic work station (2 saw horses and a wide plank of wood) was still there just the way I left it and I really wanted to finish what I had started.

Thankfully, last night things came together and I was able to complete 3 half done pieces. I love the rich textures and am happy with the way they turned out.

Sometimes if we walk away from a frustrating situation and give it some time we can gain a new perspective, right?

Annah and I got into town last night. We had a wonderful visit with family and friends…missing them already.

We got to watch Tribulation Christmas two nights in a row and hang out back stage with everyone. Hundreds of people came forward to accept Jesus. Praise God!

Chris, Annah, and I went to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and I was totally blown away looking at original paintings I had previously gawked over in books.

While I was away I had very limited internet access and there were some problems with my tutorial site SomethingToMake.com. but that should all be resolved now. If you were having troubles getting into the Classroom, please give it another try and let me know how it goes at grittyjane@gmail.com.

We are still visiting with family but I have been able to do a little artwork on the side.
