Divine

017

I am pretty excited about this painting. I think it turned out exceptionally well. I had intended to paint and angel to put on ebay…but, when I was done, I knew I wanted more for it than I would get from an auction.

It measures 18″ X 24″ X 1.5″ and is done on a wrapped canvas. If you are interested in purchasing this piece,  click here.

Red Door Landscape

I have been working hard at some abstract paintings. This is one of my favorites so far. It measures 24″ X 30″ and has intense texture.

I must say I am exhausted from my journey into abstract land. Still, I am learning something new everyday.

My son told me I am doing it all wrong. I said, “Oh really? What seems to be the problem?” He replied, “You are thinking about it way too much…you have to feel it”.  He then informed me that he has been painting abstract much longer than I. Jacob is 8.

Standing Tall

I decided to go with the -no arms- idea and just add a shabby bow. I love how this one turned out (still working on the others).

WIP Flower Head Dolls

053

I am working on these flower heads and thinking…What should I do for the arms? Should I add arms at all? Maybe leaf arms? But how? The bodies are wood…

What do you think?

I love my Dad

It is past midnight this Father’s Day (so it really isn’t Father’s Day anymore…actually my dad and I have a 3 hour time difference so it sort of is). I just read Dixie’s post about dads and it made me want to share too. So,  I dug up a few photos to show.

Here is a photo taken a few months before I was born. My father is the one in the center playing guitar. They are driving through town on a flatbed truck playing music.

july 73Can you believe he is still rockin after all these years?  Here’s a recent article in the local paper on Vashon Island : Click Here

I think the photo below was taken this year.

He is an artist. I found some work in progress photos too. He works mostly with watercolors.

I sure do love my dad. Like I told him today on the phone…the only thing I don’t like about North Carolina is that him and my grandma are not here.
