Wisdom Doll

This doll had such a strong feminine look, I just had to name her Wisdom. She stands about 14″ tall and is made of cloth, clay, and plaster.

The bible tells us… “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”  Psalms 111:10

Before I was a Christian, I would think…”I don’t want a God I have to fear!”  But eventually life got hard enough and I turned to the Lord and cried out to Him to make me his own. Now I know that the “fear” is more like a deep reverence or awe…and it is based in LOVE. It is not the fear of an abused child cowering in the corner…It is the fear that overcomes you when you catch a glipse of how absolutely All Mighty and All Powerful He is and your heart freezes up and you realize just how small you are and how every breath depends on Him. That moment is the beginning of wisdom.

Pritty Kitty

MEOW! Just wanted to log my latest dolly. This blue cat woman doll measures about 17″ tall and is made of cloth and clay.

As usual, I fell in love with the doll I made and will miss her when she’s gone…

Here she is with the real “Pritty Kitty”. He’s the stray that we have not taken in…YET.

If you would like to make her your own, you can find her on EBAY.

Oil Pastel Batik Paper

Maureen White (urbanpastures) and I have been getting to know each other online over the past year and now we have actually met! She came and visited and was gracious enough to give a quick art lesson to put on my YouTube channel.

If you are having trouble viewing these it is probably because YouTube will be undergoing scheduled maintenance, starting around 6:00 pm PDT (Weds)

Party Dress

Every girl wants a pretty dress for the party…

Earlier this summer I bought a couple really cool old bottles at a yard sale. I knew I wanted to sculpt a doll out the top of one but wasn’t sure how I would do that. I left them out by my sewing machine so I could think about it…unlike my basement full of cupboard doors and antique windows….outa-sight-outa-mind…

Anyhoo, here is what I came up with. I’ve been working on her the last few days.

Certainly a prim delight if I do say so myself…

She stands 18″ tall and her shoulders are about 5″ across.

Here she is drying in the sun.

Find her on EBAY.

Meet Emily

Here’s my latest cloth and clay doll, Emily. Teaching the doll workshop has really gotten me inspired! I was up late last night having fun finishing this sweetheart.

I am so pleased with how she turned out.

She is about 16.5″ long and has a pretty Autumn dress on.
