Little Peek

Here’s a little peek at my Art In Bloom project I worked on yesterday…She will be listed Sunday night.

I am getting excited to see what everyone comes up with. There are so many talented artists in the PWGL group on ebay. Speaking of ebay, does anyone notice that sales are a bit slow right now?

Art In Bloom

I cannot believe it is already the end of the month!! My grandma’s birthday is on the 1st of June (same day as Marilyn Monroe’s) and I haven’t sent a gift yet! AND I haven’t started my PWGL Challenge project that should be launched on the 1st…

It’s ok. I have the whole day to work on something and the topic is most inspiring! We will be celebrating all things blossoming and blooming and welcoming June…I can do that.

Throughout the week of June 1st, be sure to go to ebay and type in PWGL and find out what we artistic brainiacs came up with.

Flower Dresses

I’m just lovin these 2 sweeties in their flower dresses! These measure 24″ X 9″ X 1″ and are done on wooden boxframes. I have collaged with some really cool papers to make their dresses.

I hope everyone is having a nice day. It is starting to really warm up around here. The doors have been open for the last 3 days and I am looking forward to getting some deck furniture so we can hang out on the front porch…

Jackie Underwood

Today’s Featured Artist is Jackie Underwood. Whatever “it” is…he’s got it! This Tennessee folk artist is able to bring jazz and blues musicians to life with paint and a paintbrush!

I saw his work on ebay awhile back and was much impressed. He was selling little magnets and original paintings with incredible character. Last night as I was scrolling through the endless list of ebay’s folk art, I came across his work again and said, “Wow! I wonder if he would want to be featured on my blog…”

You know how some art just has soul?! How you can tell the difference between a knock-off and a truly original painting by the way it makes you feel ? Underwood’s originality shines through.

I asked him to share a few things about himself and here is what he wrote:

“…I love to play my
guitar and sing but I’m not to good , I like to animate my blues art a
make them sing with my computer programs, , I love to play with my two
grandchildern, I got bad grades in school art class because I wanted to
draw and not study who was who in the art world. I have a painting in
the laurel and hardy museum in harlem georgia.
I like to make blues figures out of acyrlic cast but it takes a long
time … I have about 3 videos on youtube under jlbluesart.”

Now, check this out…Underwood does these YouTube videos where his paintings come to life…the painting AND music is his own!
